Drafting and introducing legislation as a coalition can be a labor of love. Advocates must navigate hostile political landscapes, build power and support, and work with legislative sponsors to get their bills through the legislative process. While it is a coalition’s primary goal to pass legislation, what happens when the legislative process or a bill itself is or becomes harmful? Join CHLP along with four advocates from Oklahoma, Louisiana, Georgia, and Texas on this Southern HIV/AIDS Awareness Day to discuss their experiences with introducing and/or defeating aka killing harmful legislation.
Moderator: Kytara Epps, CHLP
