POZ: Explore Updated Maps and Data on HIV Crime Laws

POZ Magazine featured a round-up of events in a "big week for HIV criminalization" that highlights CHLP's recent updates to its U.S. HIV criminalization maps, with a webinar on February 26 to explain the revisions and new features.
On February 27, CHLP will celebrate two decades of “making positive justice possible” with CHLP20, an event in New York City. The inaugural Urvashi Vaid Visionary Justice Award—named after the LGBTQ rights and social justice leader—will be presented to CHLP’s founding executive director, Catherine Hanssens, for her trailblazing contributions to the fight against HIV criminalization. This event is the first of several planned throughout the year.
February 28 marks HIV Is Not a Crime Awareness Day (#HINACDay; #HIVIsNotACrime), an annual global effort to amplify the voices of people criminalized based on their HIV status. Organized by The Sero Project, the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, and other advocacy groups, the day also serves to support activists working to change laws that unfairly target people living with HIV.
