Federal Bar Association: Civil Rights Étouffée
The Federal Bar Association Civil Rights Section is hosting its biennial Civil Rights Étouffée in New Orleans on February 13 and 14, 2025. The Êtouffée begins on Thursday, February 13 with a half-day §1983 Litigation Bootcamp and continues on Friday, February 14 with a lineup of stellar panels and panelists.
CHLP Executive Director S. Mandisa Moore-O'Neal will appear in a panel on the Essentials of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Claims as part of the event's § 1983 Litigation Bootcamp on Thursday, February 13. This expert panel will cover the basics of discrimination claims under Title II / § 504, public-accommodation claims under Title III, potential defenses to these claims, remedies, ways that these claims differ from litigating violations of civil rights under § 1983, and recent developments in the law.
