CHLP Aging Primer Featured in Positively Aware Magazine

The January / February edition of Positively Aware magazine features excerpts from CHLP's new aging primer, Aging & HIV: An introduction to legal issues facing people living and aging with HIV.
This legal primer written by CHLP Staff Attorney Kae Greenberg explores the unique issues facing the rapidly expanding population of older Americans living with HIV. The focus of the primer is to help PLAHIV identify and overcome the legal barriers to aging with dignity. It explains existing support systems and serves as a guide for advocates to identify priority areas for policy work. This publication explores three areas of the law that impact PLAHIV. The excerpts are condensed from Section 1, which discusses federal laws that protect PLHIV from discrimination and the agencies that can assist with remedying complaints.
TPAN was founded in 1987 in Chicago as Test Positive Aware Network, when 17 individuals living with HIV gathered in a living room to share information and support in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. POSITIVELY AWARE is the expression of TPAN’s mission to share accurate, reliable, and timely treatment information with anyone affected by HIV.
