Obama Administration Releases Long-Awaited National AIDS Strategy (2010)

This morning the Obama administration revealed its proposed strategy for dealing with the HIV treatment and prevention needs of people affected by the epidemic in the United States. The National HIV/AIDS Strategy is the culmination of work and advocacy by people living with HIV, their advocates, AIDS service organizations, federal and state agency representatives, and corporate representatives, such as pharmaceutical companies,with a stake in the plan. In a convening today at 2:00 p.m. [listen live at: WhiteHouse.gov/live] and later at a reception for members of the HIV/AIDS communities, President Obama and representatives of his administration will lay out the basic elements of the strategy and the rationale for the plan.
