Sir Elton John's Op-Ed in Washington Post Supports ACLU's National Prison Project

Sir Elton John's Washington Post op-ed on September 16, 2012, in support of the ACLU's National Prison Project's work to get decent treatment of HIV+ prisoners earned the Atlantic Monthly's selection as one of the five best columns of the day. How we treat those we incarcerate -- and certainly those behind bars with HIV and other serious illnesses -- is one of the best indicators of how much we value human rights and the extent of the violation of those rights we are willing to tolerate as a society. Bravo, Sir Elton, for shining a light on the plight of prisoners with HIV in Alabama and South Carolina.
