BLK in the South Summit
**Note (9/11/24): Due to the impending arrival of Hurricane Francine, Mandisa will not be attending this event today.
CHLP Executive Director S. Mandisa Moore-O'Neal will speak at the BLK in the South Summit on September 11 at the Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans**, presented by Gilead Sciences. This event is an official pre-conference for USCHA and brings together local community members, Southern HIV activists, and national movement leaders to discuss the impact of HIV on the Black community in the Southern United States.
**Note (9/10/24): Due to the anticipated impact of Tropical Storm Francine, the campus of Xavier University is closed on Wednesday and this event has moved to the Hyatt Regency New Orleans.

Threats and Opportunities: Combating HIV in the U.S. South
The Black community in the South is encountering various challenges, such as voting rights restrictions, poverty, harmful legislation, HIV funding cuts, and HIV criminalization. At the same time, they are embracing new opportunities with long-acting injectables. Listen to passionate panelists actively addressing these challenges and seizing available opportunities.
