This booklet discusses an individual’s rights under New York State law regarding criminal records and employment. The booklet details, among other things, what employers may ask about an individual’s criminal record, how an individual should describe their criminal record, what information an individual must provide to their employer regarding their criminal record, and what to do if asked an illegal question by an employer.
