Doe v. Lambs Farm, Inc., Complaint, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Equip for Equality
Equip for Equality filed this complaint on behalf of an HIV-positive adult with a developmental disability who was denied admission to Lambs Farm's residential facility and vocational services based solely on his HIV status. The complaint alleges violations of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Section 804 of the Fair Housing Amendments Act, and Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The applicant was eligible for and qualified to receive services offered by Lambs Farm, but after an initial positive response to the plaintiff's application, admission was subsequently denied when Lambs Farm became aware of the applicant's HIV status. The complaint seeks an injunction ordering Lambs Farm to admit the applicant to its residential program and vocational services, in addition to monetary damages and attorney's fees.
