HIV Criminal Law Reform, Before and After: Michigan (2020)
This resource provides a concise overview of the implications of Michigan's 2018 reform of its HIV-related criminal and public health laws. The state of the law pre-reform is outlined, specific changes are explained, and a description of how people living with HIV (PLHIV) could still face criminal liability is provided. Advocates nationwide are often very interested in the results of reform in states that have previously "modernized" their HIV laws, and this resource is intended to provide that information in an accessible manner.
