Networking for Policy Change – TB/HIV Participant’s Guide, World Health Organization, Stop TB Partnership (2007)
This participant’s guide is to be used alongside the Networking for Policy Change: TB/HIV Advocacy Training Manual by the World Health Organization (WHO)’s Stop TB Partnership (see link below). It is designed to help nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and other advocates understand the TB/HIV epidemic, including its basic epidemiology, how the international community has responded to it, and recommended collaborative TB/HIV activities. The guide also includes an advocacy skills 101 section to help participants understand the basics of the advocacy process. It instructs them on how to assess their respective policy environments and to identify issues, goals, objectives, target audiences, and effective messaging for their advocacy. This section also includes detailed guidance on quantitative and qualitative data collection and fundraising. The participant’s guide closes with a list of TB/HIV internet resources that may further guide participants’ advocacy.
