Prisons and Access to Medical Services for Transgender/Transitioning Individuals, Center for HIV Law & Policy (2007)
This compilation provides synopses for five federal court decisions concerning prisons' failure to provide adequate care specific to the needs of transgender prisoners. Each case holds that denial of treatment such as hormone therapy can constitute deliberate indifference to a serious medical need in violation of the Eighth Amendment.
