On May 16, 2024, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Shelby County, Tennessee, District Attorney General’s Office reached a settlement under which the county will stop prosecuting people living with HIV (PLHIV) using Tennessee’s aggravated prostitution law.
