In this political moment, the current administration’s threats to HIV funding don’t just neglect Black lives—they put them at even greater risk. Cuts to life-saving services, disruptions to care, and the dismantling of public health infrastructure are not just policy changes—they’re direct attacks on Black communities, especially Black queer and trans people. The erosion of clinical and behavioral science funding forces us into an impossible choice: resist and risk losing what little support remains, or stay silent just to survive. How do we fight for visibility, justice, and health in systems built to forget us?
