Advancing Civil Rights in the 21st Century (2014)

New York University School of Law hosted a public interest retreat featuring CHLP Legal Director, Ivan Espinoza-Madrigal on September 22, 2014. As part of this retreat, Espinoza-Madrigal explored legal and policy strategies for advancing civil rights in the 21st century, and explained that social justice advocacy must be informed by the experiences of vulnerable and marginalized people who identify across multiple lines, including discrimination and oppression based on race, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, immigration status, and HIV.
